General Hospital spoilers and updates tease Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) will ask Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) for help.
But is she asking professionally, or as a family favor-does she need a warrant to pull Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) and Mac Scorpio’s (John J. York) paternity test?
General Hospital Spoilers – Felicia Scorpio Could Be Violating HIPAA
Now that she’s working at GH and becoming a patient advocate, Felicia could be violating HIPAA rules on patient confidentiality if she just accessed the lab’s copy of the paternity test.
But without there being a crime being investigated, she’s not really sure if asking Robert to issue a warrant for the records would be right either-yet she needs to see them.
Felicia is very suspicious as to why Cody claimed that the test didn’t show that Mac is his birth father, yet he wouldn’t show the results to anyone.
But on the other hand, Robert is Felicia’s brother-in-law-he’s Mac’s older brother and maybe he could do something as a family favor.
There has to be something he can figure out for Felicia to be able to see the results without endangering her job or starting a criminal investigation on Cody.
GH Spoilers – A Roundabout Way?
Robert thinks maybe there’s a roundabout way besides issuing a warrant to access the paternity test records from the hospital lab.
Little do they know there are several close to the Scorpio family who already know the truth-Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) and Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) plus Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson).
Cody hasn’t been forthcoming since Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) died and the Ice Princess necklace was destroyed in the drone strike on the Haunted Star.
Cody is now ashamed of himself for putting money ahead of family-the only reason he lied is because he thought he could inherit the necklace as Leopold Taub’s (Chip Lucia) son.
General Hospital Spoilers – Felicia Scorpio Gets Clearance
Robert was able to arrange for Felicia to access the paternity results by fudging a reopening of the lawsuit Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner) had started against the WSB.
He reopened the suit just to be able to properly close it afterwards, requesting the paternity test records to see if Cody had a claim to the necklace.
That was the very reason that Cody had backed out of it, because of needing proof he was Taub’s son because Taub had ownership, not Cody’s mother Dominique Stanton (Shell Danielson).
Robert arranged for Felicia to act in behalf of Mac, since he’s in Argentina and not available to investigate the papers himself.
This way Felicia is acting as Mac’s representative and not under the hospital’s jurisdiction as a patient advocate and that gives her leeway to access the records without endangering her job.
