General Hospital (GH) spoilers suggest that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) isn’t in a good place right now. Still steaming from Nina Reeves’s (Cynthia Watros) betrayal, he’s not making the best decisions as of late.
Not only did he beat the holy heck out of Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) recently, but he also *almost* had Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) kill him.
Thankfully, Sonny came to his senses and stopped Dex in time, but will that be the case for everything, moving forward?
GH spoilers for early 2024 suggest that Sonny will show signs of spiraling. Sure, he’s still reeling from the hurt and anger that Nina has caused, but there might be more to this.
Sonny is in a dark place right now, and if history can dictate what the future holds, there’s a good chance he may decide to go off his bipolar medication.
It may even be something that happens by accident. He decides to have a little too much to drink, forgets to take them one night, and continues the habit.
Then again, when Sonny gets into one of these moods, he almost enjoys the pain and toxicity that comes with his mental imbalance.
He’s hurting right now because of Nina, and in many ways, her betrayal cuts harder because everyone in his life warned him about her.
He almost lost his relationship with Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) over Nina, and he ended his marriage and once-happy family with Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) thanks to their affair.
Nina covering up her SEC secret could have him second-guessing everything he’s done since he’s been with her.
Even undue amounts of stress can trigger a bipolar episode, so it sounds like Sonny’s mental health could take a downward turn.
Carly is no longer his keeper, Dex is just an employee, and Michael may keep his distance considering his role in the SEC cover-up. Will anyone notice that Sonny isn’t taking his meds?
