“Surprises Unleashed: GH Friday Recap Showcases Cyrus’s Unusual Role and Esme’s Intrigue!”

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Friday, December 22, reveals that Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi) urged Molly Lansing-Davis (Kristen Vaganos) and TJ Ashford (Tajh Bellow) to consider the advantages of using her as the egg donor.

Kristina argued that Molly would have a biological connection to her child since those “Davis genes would be all up in there.”

TJ pointed out that creating an embryo with Molly’s sister was a serious step that could complicate things.

Kristina ultimately gave Molly and TJ a chance to discuss the idea alone.

Nearby, Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) and Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) were acting weird about Scout Cain (Cosette Abinante), so Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) pushed for updates.

Sam explained that Scout didn’t want to attend the new school Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) got her into. Drew had blinders on and couldn’t see that Scout was against the idea.

Since Drew had faced a hard life, Alexis suggested this was his way of trying to create a better one for Scout.

At Laura Collins’ (Genie Francis) place, Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) was excited to hang out with Ace Cassadine (Jay and Clay) since Esme Prince (Avery Pohl) offered to let him.

Esme eventually brought Ace over, but she insisted she couldn’t stay and told Spencer that she needed some alone time.

After Esme suggested that some people still only saw the old her, Spencer offered a little pep talk. Esme said Spencer was right and that what they did now was what mattered.

Once Esme left, Spencer expressed concern to Laura and Kevin Collins (Genie Francis) since Esme seemed off.

It was strange for Esme to push for alone time on Christmas, but Laura acted like it was reasonable now that Esme was living on her own as a single mom.

There was a knock at the door, so Laura answered it and found Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) standing there with a gift for Ace.

Cyrus hoped to get to know Ace better in the new year and wished “a blessed Christmas to all.”

At Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) and Portia Robinson’s (Brook Kerr) house, Stella Henry (Vernee Watson) and Marshall Ashford (Robert Gossett) exchanged a look before flashing back to their close moment earlier.

Stella eventually got so rattled that she dropped a tray, so Portia worried that she might be sick.

However, Stella insisted she was fine and started talking about Christmas memories of Irene Ashford (Cheryl Francis Harrington).

Curtis told Marshall that he was picking up strange vibes since Stella just wasn’t herself tonight.

Marshall babbled on about things being complicated in a close family and suggested Stella was missing Irene.

At GH, Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) ran into Cyrus and said he shouldn’t be there since the children’s story time was coming up.

Cyrus thought that if he could forgive Jordan for fabricating evidence that put him in prison, she could forgive him now. Jordan argued that she’d never forgive Cyrus for TJ’s kidnapping.

After Jordan said one day Cyrus would slip up and get sent back to prison, she sarcastically wished him a merry Christmas.

Jordan eventually made it to Alexis’ place, where Kristina filled everyone in on offering to be the egg donor in addition to the surrogate.

Molly and TJ decided to accept Kristina’s offer, which left Alexis and Jordan looking uneasy.

At the church, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) handed the priest an envelope with a sizable donation for the collection.

Wiley Corinthos (Viron Weaver) was worried about not making it to the hospital holiday party in time, but Sonny suggested they had to do what they came for first.

Sonny, Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and Wiley headed over to the candle area, where Sonny lit one for Morgan Corinthos (Bryan Craig), Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and Mike Corbin (Max Gail).

Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) saw the look on Nina Corinthos’ (Cynthia Watros) face and assumed she was thinking about Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier).

Although Willow thought of the pain Nelle brought when she remembered her sister, Nina couldn’t help but wonder if Nelle could’ve turned her life around. Willow guessed that now they’d never know.

Sonny, Michael, Willow and Wiley all headed to the hospital, but Nina stayed behind to light a candle for Nelle.

When the priest appeared, Nina tearfully asked if it was too late to make a confession.

The priest insisted it was never too late and said to give him a few minutes.

Cyrus lurked nearby – and later, he popped up as the one listening when Nina began speaking in the confessional.

At Carly Spencer’s (Laura Wright) house, Josslyn Jacks (temporarily played by Courtney Fulk) and Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) brought Adam Wright (Joshua Benard) to the Christmas gathering.

Carly welcomed Adam, but she privately asked Josslyn if she was enabling his fear about facing his parents.

Josslyn eventually offered to pay for a last-minute flight to get Adam home, but he blew up at her for not listening and bailed on the celebration.

At Wyndemere, Esme smashed her way in and used a flashlight to look around.

When Esme reached the room where she’d been held captive, she found that it was locked.

That caused Esme to remember shouting at Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss) and banging on the doors in captivity.

Esme ultimately had a flood of negative memories – including setting up the phone camera to record Josslyn and Cameron Webber’s (William Lipton) first time together.

There were also some flashbacks of Esme fighting with Spencer and Trina – plus, one of Esme facing off with Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) when she was a fugitive.

Once Esme made it out to the parapet, she remembered jumping off and seemed overwhelmed over everything that was coming back to her.

Back at the hospital, Gregory Chase (Gregory Harrison) asked for a moment alone with Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) and admitted he wanted to see Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) marry the love of his life.

Since time wasn’t on Gregory’s side, he hoped Brook Lynn and Chase would set a wedding date that would allow him to be there. Brook Lynn assured Gregory that they’d make it happen.

Friday’s episode also brought a reading of The Night Before Christmas as the kids gathered around Laura and Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) for the story.

Finally, Trina was surprised to find Spencer holding Ace when she arrived for the GH party, so they got some unexpected time together.

General Hospital spoilers say Spencer and Trina have more surprises ahead of them, so stay tuned for news on their next chapter.
