The actress predicts a big win for her TV granddad on B&B.
The Bold and the Beautiful star Jacqueline MacInnes Wood has almost as many Daytime Emmys for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series (3) as she does children (4). Soap Hub was present backstage last month when she shared her thoughts on Steffy’s future and which co-star she thinks is headed for Emmy gold in 2024.
Jacqueline MacInnes Wood: Heart of Gold

Steffy Forrester Finnegan, in Wood’s capable hands, has cheated death, battled a drug addiction, and gone up against Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) among other things over the years. Asked what she thinks Steffy hasn’t done, the actress responded, “Oh, my…Brad Bell [executive producer/head writer] has been so giving and wonderful. I never know what Steffy’s up to next. I turn the page and I’m always excited to see [what’s in store].
“Steffy’s determined and strong and has a heart of gold,” adds Wood. While there’s always drama onscreen, the environment in which the show is produced is very different. “I wish I could bring the viewers to our set because the energy there is just wonderful,” she enthuses. “I’ve been on the show 15 years. I’ll always be grateful.”
Wood acknowledges that Steffy is certainly grateful to her husband Finn (Tanner Novlan) for his role in helping her grandfather Eric (John McCook), but she’s not sure what’s next for the duo. They’ve already sparred over Xander’s (Adain Bradley) claim that Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) is responsible for Emma’s (Nia Sioux) death.

However, Wood has one prediction for this year — that McCook will earn his bookend Daytime Emmy for his performance in his most recent storyline in which Eric grappled with his mortality and fought valiantly not only for his own life but for his family.

“John McCook has been wonderful in these scenes,” she says, “no fake tears — they’re [all] real tears. He’s just existing in those scenes and we’re all present with him. I hope there’s an Emmy for him next year. It’s been such a wonderful story.”
