This could get complicated between Ridge Forrester and his father.
Ridge Forrester made a controversial decision on behalf of his ailing father, Eric Forrester, on The Bold and the Beautiful. If Eric survives, he may find himself having a difficult time forgiving his son.
Eric Forrester: Complicated Relationships
In a shocking turn of events, Finn (Tanner Novlan) recently shared a potential way to save Eric (John McCook) from the mysterious life-threatening disease he has. Everyone had given Eric and his family no hope, but Finn pushed for a solution to save his wife Steffy’s (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) grandfather.
For a moment, it seemed as if the Forrester patriarch would be saved, but Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) stepped in, declaring he didn’t want his father to serve as a guinea pig, and instead, he declared that Eric should die peacefully . Not surprisingly, others weren’t thrilled with his decision.
If Eric manages to survive, it might be easy for him to be angry at his son. However, we suspect that Eric will realize that Ridge merely had his best intentions at heart when he made a choice to allow him to die peacefully instead of undertaking a risky new treatment that Finn made everyone well aware wasn’t a magic bullet.
Although it could cement their rivalry, we think that should Eric live, he’ll be grateful that his son cared enough to make difficult decisions. Plus, the Forrester patriarch will likely hold his family even closer, given he had such a close brush with death. Life and death moments always seem to put things into perspective, and Eric will be no different.
While Eric may be willing to forgive his son for choosing to allow him to die over a risky treatment, Ridge may not get the same understanding from his daughter, Steffy, or Eric’s girlfriend, Donna (Jennifer Gareis). They may hold a grudge against Ridge for a good long while.
