“Farewell Toast: B&B Recap Showcases Eric’s Tragic Unawareness Amidst Deteriorating Health”
Meanwhile, his entire family put their game faces on for the celebration.
In The Bold and the Beautiful recap for December 6, 2023, Eric’s grand finale of a party began with a special toast.
Bold and the Beautiful Recap Highlights
In addition, both Thorne and Bridget arrived at Forrester Creations to reunite with their family and learn the dire news about their dad. Now, let’s dig into the drama of what went down.
The Forrester Pre-Party Reunion
Thorne and Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) reunited in Eric’s CEO office. The first thing the younger brother noticed was how much Forrester Creations had not changed. After that, Ridge had no choice but to tell Thorne (Winsor Harmon, read about what he’s been up to lately here) the news about Eric (John McCook) dying. Thorne’s reactions were that of disbelief and shock and, eventually, tears. He couldn’t believe his dad hadn’t told him about this development. He doesn’t want to let his dad go. While Ridge comforted Thorne, Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) arrived and also did her best to comfort her uncle.
Elsewhere at FC, the Logan women — Katie (Heather Tom), Hope (Annika Noelle), and Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) — were dressed up for the party. They reiterated the need to make this a joyous occasion for Eric. When Bridget (Ashley Jones) arrived, she reconnected with Brooke, Hope, and Katie. And, of course, she immediately wanted to know what this celebration was all about. After learning the truth, Bridget handled it much like Thorne. She teared up, and being the doctor that she is, she wanted to know if her dad had gotten a second opinion. Brooke let her daughter know there was no cure for Eric’s illness. Bridget came to the realization her dad didn’t have much time left.
Over in the runway room, RJ (Joshua Hoffman) complimented Luna (Lisa Yamada). Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) and Zende (Delon de Metz) were there, too. They talked about everybody knowing about Eric. Zende actually apologized to RJ for coming down on him so hard. He now feels it was really cool how RJ’s been helping Eric. Once Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor) joined them, they once again commiserated about Eric not thinking he has long to live.
Last-Minute Preparations and Getting their Game Faces On
At the house, Donna (Jennifer Gareis) showed off her dress for Eric, and they got ready for the party. Eric expressed how sure he was this one last family gathering would be special. When Katie arrived at the house, she immediately expressed her concern about wanting to take Eric to the hospital. Eric won’t have any of it. He yelled that there was going to be a party, one they’ll never forget! Later, everything was ready to go, and all the lists had been checked. They even had the bottle of wine from Eric and Stephanie’s wedding. Apparently, this is just the special occasion to break open that baby.
Meanwhile, the Forrester Creations crew continued to reflect on Eric’s life and health and this party where they’ll have to put up a front. Bridget thanked RJ for his help with Eric. And Ridge took the lead, kind of coaching everybody and hyping them up for the party that will take a toll on all of them emotionally. He wanted to know if there was anybody who wouldn’t be able to do that.
As far as he was concerned, this will be a night full of love and celebration. Eric will need them as a source of power. Ridge said let the tears fall now and not at the house. Despite Bridget’s fears and disbelief, Ridge basically said they all have to suck it up and bring joy and happiness to this celebration of Eric. Could they all do it? The group assured him they could. Then, Ridge urged them to put their game faces on, and they left for the party.
Before everyone arrived, Eric reiterated his wish that nobody find out about his health except those already knew. Everybody arrived, and Eric was happily reunited with Bridget and Thorne. He said his kids are the best thing that’s ever happened to him in his life. Bridget wished she brought her son, Logan. Eric welcomed his talented grandsons, RJ, Zende, and Thomas. When Carter walked through the door, Eric told him he’s family and to never forget that.
Finally, the party started. The champagne flowed, and Eric raised a toast (first of many toasts, he was sure) to all of them, and he was so happy they were there. This evening would be full of happiness and love, and he wished they could understand what this night means to him. All he wanted right now was for them to give each other positive energy. He toasted everyone: “To joy and laughter.” While everybody clinked their glasses, Eric’s hand started shaking.
