General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Sam McCall’s (Kelly Monaco) relationship with Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) is steady and secure, but it’s also become a bit stale as a result. Although there’s value in Dante and Sam being perhaps the most stable couple on the show, it also means they’re stuck in a boring rut.
Although Sam and Dante are often supporting players in other people’s storylines, they rarely get a chance to tackle drama of their own.
That’s not fair to Kelly Monaco and Dominic Zamprogna since they don’t have much of an opportunity to show off their talent as actors.
Is it time to finally yank away Dante and Sam’s stability as a couple? Should Sam and Dante’s relationship take a hit so that Monaco and Zamprogna can get some gripping material?
Maybe what Sam needs is a hot affair story! It could be just what the show needs to spice things up and head in a new direction.
It’d be easy for Sam and Dante to start drifting apart a bit as he throws himself into work.
If Dante does something reckless on the job that riles Sam up, that’d be another way to create some emotional distance between them.
If Sam ends up betraying Dante somewhere down the line, who might she cheat with?
A great option would be Cody Bell (Josh Kelly), especially now that Sam’s watched him step up for Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) and prove he’s a good man.
Cody acts like he’s fine with waiting for Sasha to decide she’s ready to date, but he could get lonely in the meantime.
GH writers could lean into that and strengthen Cody’s bond with Sam while he’s stuck in limbo with Sasha.
Since Cody and Dante are close pals who go way back, an affair between Sam and Cody would send the drama skyrocketing through the roof! It’d be such a huge betrayal for Dante on both sides.
However, an affair between Sam and Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) would have great dramatic potential too, especially since Sam and Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) have actually become pretty good friends lately.
Whatever the case, a sizzling affair story for Sam would definitely shake up her world and end the boredom!
