Also in this episode, Jill tried to get to the bottom of Mamie’s plans, which Lily and Devon thought were likely innocent. Nate realized Victor seemed fine, and Nikki demanded her husband stop his cruel game. Finally, Devon told Nate to make sure Aunt Mamie realized he wouldn’t return to Chancellor-Winters. Now, let’s dive deeper into what happened.
Young and the Restless: Family Drama
At the Chancellor mansion, Devon (Bryton James) and Lily (Christel Khalil) met with Jill (Jess Walton) via video call. She expressed her frustration about hitting a wall regarding Mamie and her investment company LLB, suspecting secret intentions behind her investment in Chancellor-Winters.
Lily believed there was nothing to find, but Jill urged them to maintain constant vigilance. Devon wondered if Mamie was really a threat, but Jill warned against underestimating her, insisting that Mamie’s actions were all about her.
Tucker (Trevor St. John) confronted Mamie (Veronica Redd) in her suite at the GCAC. He wanted to know about her meeting with Nate. Mamie dismissed it as catching up and asserted that they had moved past Nate’s betrayal.
Tucker doubted Nate’s suitability for business but agreed to stay out of each other’s way. Mamie emphasized her goal of having their family under one corporate roof, which Tucker found misguided. She assured him she would handle the cousins, warning him not to cross her.
At home, Devon received a text from Tucker requesting a meeting. Uncertain about his father’s intentions, Devon worried as he stared at his grandmother’s portrait. Although he didn’t want to meet, Devon reluctantly agreed at Tucker’s insistence.
Later at the GCAC, Devon admitted to keeping his distance due to his father’s situation with Ashley. Tucker expressed a desire to fix their relationship and opened up about his feelings for his soon- to-be ex. Devon urged him to be honest and make amends with his wife. Ultimately, Devon challenged his father to be honest about what happened with Ashley.
Mamie met Lily at Crimson Lights, where they discussed family and Mamie’s return. Lily noted that she had Jill unsettled, but Mamie laughed it off, focusing on her connection with Lily and Devon. Mamie acknowledged lingering tension with Nate but insisted on giving him another chance. Lily remained skeptical.
In his suite, Tucker texted Ashley, asking if there was a way back from their situation. Ashley replied with a definitive “No,” prompting Tucker to throw his glass against the wall in frustration.
Young and the Restless Recap: Family Trap
At Newman Enterprises, Nate (Sean Dominic) and Victor (Eric Braeden) had an enlightening conversation about Adam (Mark Grossman), the new and perfect assistant. Nate had praised Adam’s exemplary work, surprising Victor. Nate sensed a tinge of disappointment in Victor, but the CEO claimed he was merely curious.
Nate reported that Adam said he was turning over a new leaf, but Nate couldn’t figure out why this time was different. Nate shared that Adam initially thought the role was beneath him, but he had thrown himself into it. He also told Victor that his kids were concerned about his health, but he wasn’t worried since he used to be his doctor. Victor appreciated the heads-up.
Nate left Victor’s office, looking worried. Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) ran into him and asked what was wrong. Nate revealed that Victor sounded lucid, contradicting others’ claims about his mental decline. Nikki defended Victor, asserting that his children were mistaken. Later, she confronted Victor about his plot, suspecting that he was tricking everyone. Victor insisted he wasn’t losing his mind and explained that he was figuring out which of his children would betray him.
Y&R Recap: Disapproval
In his office, Victor discussed Mamie’s investment in Chancellor-Winters with Jill over a video call. Jill pressed for details because she felt threatened by Mamie’s actions. Victor brushed off her concerns, citing Mamie as harmless. Jill questioned whether Victor would inform her if something were amiss.
Nikki returned to Victor’s office, expressing her disapproval of his cruel tactics. Victor argued that the end justified the means, even if it meant chaos. Nikki warned him that Nate was onto him and might share suspicions with Victoria. Victor said that one of his children would soon make a move.
Nate and Devon crossed paths at the GCAC. Nate wanted Devon’s thoughts on Mamie’s return and revealed Mamie’s desire for him to return to Chancellor-Winters despite his desire not to. Devon suggested to his cousin that it was then up to Nate to dissuade her from that notion.
